For this week’s assignment, we were asked to create a commercial that discussed the nature of our websites’ premises. Given the flexibility of the content limitations, being free reign over what we could discuss, I decided to dedicate my commercial on a more persuasion focused pitch, rather than another personal reflection on who I am in regards to esports. This decision was specifically made due to the current state of my site, where for those of you who have explored it thus far can attest, I mainly have been platforming my experiences.
That being said, this review allows me the opprutunity to admit that I had quite a bit of fun relearning Garageband. I haven’t had a chance to really play around with the software since middle school, but even after all this time it was refreshing to still have a sense of its versatility. While Audacity remains my preferred audio editor of choice, there is a great deal of simple yet complex desirability with the convince of Garageband. Aside from the fact that it’s free of course.

I won’t lie though, there were at least several different moments where I had to rely on Youtube tutorials to help sort out issues relating to the crossfading. For a while I couldn’t fathom why on earth certain segues sounded like screeching tires, go figure after nearly an hour of recording I found out there had been a simple layered robot effect right in plain view that I had completely missed.
All and all, I found the usability of the application impressive. The simple tool guide and plethora of available help desk content online made the process relatively painless. There’s of course the horrendous cost of having to hear my own voice over and over again during the editing process, but I suppose nothing could have helped that. Here’s to hoping everyone else had as much fun working with the application as I did!
