Screencasting Review

The premise of screen-sharing/casting is nothing I am unfamiliar with. As an esports consultant, I have found OBS and similar softwares to be a somewhat crucial tool to be familiar with when regularly assisting streamers and game casters. And while I do not necessarily consider myself as technically adept as those beyond my scope of skill, much to me pleasant surprise, I found my experience with Screencast-O-Matic to be incredibly well designed. Given the fact it is also free to use for the general public I can’t imagine there’s much more that could possibly be desired for something so efficient. The 720 quality is steady, there’s hardly any lagging in both audio and movement, the microphone’s range is a bit sensitive but Im sure that has differentiated for everyone. For an early starting streamer or let’s player this format could be used as a relatively reliable form of getting started.

In regards of value outside of gaming, I think youtube influencers or other media creators that are trying to begin their careers would find the program to be an excellent first step software. The ability to import the videos into more advanced video editing software also leaves open a lot of creative chances to re-effect, overlay, and add images to the content. It is in my honest opinion thought that Screencast-O-Matic works better as a first time use software for those trying to expand their skills in video editing. Once again, coming from someone who works with other forms of editor tools, I found the entire program enjoyable, easy, and simple enough to use.
